Eileen M. Henningson (née Davis) of St. Charles passed away April 2, 2017, at age 84.

She was born December 8, 1932, to parents Ernest and Agnes (née Dunn) Davis in Geneva, IL.

Eileen joyfully served her community for 32 years as a crossing guard for the St. Charles school district, and she was a lifelong member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in St. Charles, IL.

She married Gunnar A. Henningson, Jr. on September 22, 1956, and raised two children with him. She was a devoted wife, mother, and sister, and being with family was always important to her. In her later years, her greatest joy was being a grandma and spending time with her granddaughters and great-grandson, playing games and working on puzzles with them. As a Cubs fan, she was thrilled to see them win the World Series in 2016.

She is survived by her two children, Mike (Colleen) Henningson of Geneva, IL and Carol (Steve) Herra of Elburn, IL; six granddaughters, Brittany, Jill, Jordan, Megan, Kristen, and Shannon; one great-grandson, Cameron; and her two sisters Mary (Ken) Fisher and Rita Martin, both of St. Charles, IL; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Gunnar; and sisters, Alice Davis and Catherine Davis.

Eileen’s family would like to extend a very special thank you to Dr. Ken Liesen and staff for their many years of compassion and care.

Visitation will be 4-8:00 P.M. Thursday April 6, 2017 at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174. Funeral mass will be at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, April 7, 2017 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 400 cedar Street in St. Charles, IL 60174. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Patrick’s Parish, 6N487 Crane Road St. Charles, IL 60175.
