Patricia Christine Smith, 67 of Wayne , IL passed away March 11, 2017 at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva. She was born on March 28, 1949 to John and Shirley Smith in Hartford WI and was raised in Arlington Heights IL. During her life she also lived in Chicago, Lisle, Downers Grove and finally Wayne.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack Smith.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Darrell Senneke and her precious daughter Sara Senneke, siblings; Lynne (Bob) Ryan, Gail (Clyde) Scandrett, Christopher (Jean) Smith and Sherry Evans. Her In laws; Mary Senneke, Dennis (Robbie) Senneke, Deanna Brusso, David (Carol Plating) Senneke , Cindy (Heidi Spoor) Senneke, numerous nieces, nephews, and countless friends.
At Arlington Heights High School Pat excelled in speech, acting and writing, staring in numerous productions throughout her high school career. From there she went to Southern Illinois University where she majored in drama. During this time period she also worked summer stock with several touring theater productions.
After leaving college Pat moved to Chicago where she became involved in The Second City improvisational theater troupe. While she was finding her footing she also worked at several industrial show houses. After several years of working for others Pat became a freelance writer, producer and director working on numerous high profile productions. In 1980 Pat founded Showright Productions, an award winning custom industrial show and sales meeting house. Careers must change with the times and as the industrial show business waned Pat segued into real estate in 1999 where she excelled as a realtor for over a decade.
Nothing was more important to Pat than her family and friends. In her life she was supremely ethical in all her dealings with others, always had a smile on her face and loved making people laugh. She loved her dogs and enjoyed tending her numerous flower gardens. Pat was a brilliant woman who brought an insightful wisdom into all her conversations.
She was truly “Sui generis”
Visitation and a celebration of her life will be held Sunday, March 19th from 2 to 5:00 P.M. at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 E. Main Street, St. Charles IL 60174.
