OBITUARY

Laura Comperda, age 49, of Batavia, Illinois, passed away January 30, 2013. She was born July 1, 1963 to William and Leone Dombrow in Oak Park, IL. She is a graduate of St. Charles High School class of 1981. Laura met her husband of 25 years, Ken, in high school, and they made their home in Batavia where they raised their son, Kyle. She was devoted to her four horses and three Great Danes. Laura was an accomplished equestrian on the “A” circuit as an adult, and as a junior, she showed on the NIHJA circuit. She showed at WEF in Wellington, FL, and twice represented the US in the Amateur Nations Cup in Ireland. She was a volunteer through Holy Cross Ministries providing comfort and friendship to the residents at Batavia Rehab. Laura was always generous with her time volunteering her talents for the Therapeutic Riding School in the Chicagoland area.

She is survived by her husband Ken, and son Kyle, siblings, Cheryl Barnson, Bill (Cate) Dombrow, Linda (Steve) Gahlbeck, Tom Dombrow, many nieces and nephews, mother-in-law, Carole Comperda, and brothers-in-law, Scott Comperda, Douglas (Nicolle) Comperda.

She was preceded in death by her parents, and brother-in-law Larry Barnson.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30 A.M. Monday, February 4, 2013, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, in Batavia. Visitation will be 1-6:00 P.M. Sunday, February 3, 2013, at Yurs Funeral Home 405 E. Main Street (corner of Rt. 25 & Rt. 64) St. Charles, IL, 60174. Burial will be at Assumption Cemetery, in Wheaton.
