OBITUARY

Steven D. Garton, 65, died peacefully on Tuesday, January 29, surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Donovan and Lucille (Shaffer) Garton, Steve was born on November 14, 1947 in Decatur, Indiana. He was a member of Westridge Community Church in Elgin, Illinois. He earned his BS and MBA at Indiana University and worked as CFO of Swift-Eckrich and Sons, Felpro Corporation, Grand Eagle Corporation and later as CEO of his own company Industrial Maintenance Solutions. In recent years, Steve was the managing broker for Kettley Realtors in Saint Charles, Illinois.

Steve is survived by his wife of 41 years, Kathi (Jacobus) Garton, daughters Abigail Elliott, Amanda Garton , grandson Sean Steven Elliott and his sister Sharon (Garton) Barger.

A worship service celebrating Steve’s life and faith will be held on Sunday, February 3rd at 1:00 P.M. at West Ridge Community Church, located on the northwest corner of Rt. 20 and Nessler Rd. in Elgin, IL. Interment will be private at Prairie Cemetery, St. Charles. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 2nd at Yurs Funeral Home of Geneva, 1771 West St., from 3-7:00 P.M.
