"Jay and I met only 3 times in person. We spoke approx a dozen times by phone. Being roughly the same age I was extremely impressed with his frankness, his interest in improving my personal approach to management and most importantly his ready smile. A helpful fun filled enjoyable smile. "

Barbara Bond and Cathy Martin from Geneva IL

"Bernadette, Caitlyn, and Jay - We are so sorry for your loss. It was shocking to hear of Jay's sudden death - you must be reeling. I (Barb) always smile thinking of him puttering around the yard on his riding mower. Know that you are in our thoughts during this difficult time. Hugs, Barb and Cathy"

Jeff Smith from Bremen IN

"While hearing of Jay's loss brings much sadness, remembering Jay makes me smile. I will always remember him from our HS days as the guy that was never afraid to call it as he saw it, but was never a huge jerk about it. I will remember him fondly as one of the most determined to excel and succeed people I've ever known. I will remember him in my heart as a friend. To those of you who knew Jay best and loved him the most, my prayers and thoughts are with you. May God grant you that peace that passes all understanding and that in your "remembering" you will soon smile more than you weep. "

sandra dixon from cape coral FL

"Bernie, Julie, and Family, My prayers are with you all at this time. We only had the opportunity to interact with Jay on a couple of occasions but enjoyed hearing the stories of the wonderful Christmas meals he would prepare for the family over the years. Each year I looked forward to hearing about how wonderful and warm Christmas with the Kempers would had been for my friend Julie. Memories can't replace our loved ones but thank God for them."

"These moments in life for you and our family can never be truly expressed. Tears shed, embraces given, moments relived. However we all provide comfort Jay in his everlasting personality would have greeted all of this with an "excellent"! I can only imagine what good things his is creating just above us - regardless of everyone's narrative of just one terrific person. He will always be a personal enthusiastic gentleman.

Helen Bodiford from Charlotte NC

Only wish we could have gotten to know him better, particularly given the other comments offered here. Our prayers go out to you, his family and friends, "until we meet again, when there are no sunsets, only dawning."

"I am very saddened to hear about this sudden loss. I first met Jay 2 years ago. He helped me to make a very important career transition at my current employer. He took a risk on bringing me onto his team (This was to be my first experience in my new field). As a result of his decision and support, I have enjoyed a succesful transition to an entirely new career. I will always remember Jay Kemper and regret that I only knew him for a short while. He had a significant impact on my life. Kind Regards, David Beck"

"I am the founder of Satterfield Renzenbrink Associates, an executive search firm. I first met Jay in the mid 2000's when I was recruiting for a VP Sales role. We immediately hit it off when I found out Jay was from Portland, IN and I had grown up in nearby Hagerstown, IN. In fact our high schools played against each other. Over the years Jay and I got to spend more time together and I was alsways so impressed with him as a great business person and more iportantly an even better man. I know he was so proud of his family and I can not imagine the void in your lives. I will have you in my prayers daily. "

Steve Seckar from Palm Harbor FL

"I had the pleasure of working with and for Jay for many years, but more importanly he was a great friend and mentor. He was a great competitor in business (and pool, and cards...) always displaying the highest level of integrity and pride.

Family always came first with Jay, and as parents my wife and I learned much by admiring how Jay and Bernie raised such wonderful children in little Jay and Caitlyn.

Our family's thoughts and prayers are with the extended Kemper family. Keep the wonderful memories of Jay in your hearts always. I'm picturing him now staking out his spot in Heaven's best sports bar, getting ready for March Madness.
