OBITUARY

Joseph C. Kunches, age 87, of St. Charles, died peacfully Thursday, December 13, 2012 at Delnor Community Hospital, Geneva.

He was born November 6, 1925 in Aurora, IL.

Joe graduated from Marmion Military Academy in 1942. He was a veteran in the U.S. Army serving in Europe. After his discharge in 1945 he was awarded the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star.

He married Helen Irene Spriet on September 26, 1946 at St. Patrick Church in St. Charles. He was employed by Medical Protective Company out of Fort Wayne Indiana. Joe retired in 1990.

He was an active member of the Exchange Club of the Tri Cities. He was appointed by the Mayor of St. Charles to the Police and Fire commission from 1979 to 1983.

He was an active parishioner of St. Patrick Church, and a member of the Third Order of St. Francis. He served on the organization Committee for the founding of St. John Neumann Parish in St. Charles.

He is survived by his beloved wife of over 66 years, Helen. Children, Mary Helen Chiappetta, Joseph M. (Linda) Kunches, Laureen (Pat Joyce) Kunches, Margaret Kunches, Patricia(Steve) Schapiro, John Kunches, and Jim (Denae) Kunches. He is also survived by his loving sister, Mary Jo Ertmann, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Lillian (nee Hoben) Kunches.

Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M. Monday, December 17th at St. Patrick Crane Road Church 6N487 Crane Road Church St. Charles. Monsignor Joseph Linster officiating. Burial will be private. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of the funeral mass Monday at the church.
