His parents followed his move, and became active in the horse community, where Bill and his father Isaac joined the Pima County Sheriff’s Posse.
Eventually he moved back to Glen Ellyn and worked at his Grandfather’s Studebaker dealership. As destiny has it, he eventually sold a car to a beautiful young customer Jeanette, who became his future sweetheart and bride. They married in 1955, raised their four children in Lombard, Illinois until moving to St. Charles in 1978.
Bill remained very active all the way until this last year when his health started failing. He was involved in many organizations and clubs, and enjoyed several hobbies which he tried to do to perfection. He was a member and former Governor of the Naperville Moose Lodge, member of the Tiger Club, Fox Valley Dog Training Club where he was also an instructor for many years, LaSalle Brittany Club, American Brittany Rescue, and the Bee-Keepers Club. Bill and his beloved dog Britt also were dedicated volunteers spending time at Delnor Hospital in the Therapy Dog program, and visiting several local retirement homes. They also volunteer in the “Read to Rover Program”at the Elburn library. He also enjoyed several hobbies like beekeeping, wine-making, gardening, camping, fishing, camping, and hunting alongside his beloved dogs.
He left behind Jeanette, his wife of 56 years; his four children Bill (Debbie), Linda (Guido) Dekruyff, Brad (Sandy), and Debbie (Tom) Syron; his twelve grand-children Chris, Danny, Billy, Jeremy, Shelby, Andy, Tony, Jake, Johnny, Taylor, Casey and Tammy; as well as his great-granddaughters Ava and Kendall.
He was preceded in death by his sister Margaret Richards of Arizona, and his beloved Brittany’s Britt and Debbie.
