OBITUARY
Ruth H. Fick, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully at her home in St. Charles, Illinois on May 10, 2012. She was born on June 21, 1923 to John and Mary May of Chicago’s Austin neighborhood.
She was the youngest of four children. Her only child, Michael, was born in 1944. She married Elmhurst police officer George Fick in 1949, and they lived in Schiller Park before moving to Elmhurst. She lived in Glen Ellyn for seventeen years then settled in St. Charles in 1994. She loved to travel, read, knit and crochet. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family. Her quick wit and sense of humor persisted even in her final days.
Ruth is survived by her son Michael (Sharon) Fick, her grandson Matthew (Ann) Fick, her granddaughter Julie (Jason) Kuffer and her great-grandchildren Hayden and Cole Kuffer.
She is preceded in death by her parents John and Mary May, her husband George Fick, and her siblings Jack, Joseph and Mary.
Funeral Service will be held 10:00 A.M. Thursday, May 17th, at Yurs Funeral Home, 1771 West State Street (Rt. 38), Geneva. Burial will be at Mt. Emblem Cemetery, Elmhurst. Visitation will be held from 3-7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.
