Russell Williams Groce, age 93, of Geneva, formerly of St. Charles died Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva. He was born June 11, 1916 in Deer Park, Illinois to Russell and Margaret Groce. Mr. Groce was a member of the Masonic Lodge and the Shriners. He is survived by his wife, Rena, four children, Eric (Jennifer) of DeKalb, Russell E. Groce of East Moline, Deborah Sanderson of Colorado and Janice (David) Smith of St. Charles, two step children, Deborah Foote of St. Charles and Mike (Kristine) Bushman of Geneva, a brother, Louis Groce of Genoa and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, his step father, Jessie King and three brothers, Dan, Ed and Clint. Funeral service will be held 5:00 P.M., Sunday, December 6th at Yurs Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, (corner of Rt. 64 and Rt. 25), St. Charles. Graveside services will be held 1:00 P.M., Monday, December 7th at Winchester Cemetery in Winchester, Illinois. Visitation will be Sunday from 2-5:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
